Was religious patriarchy brought to Africa by Semitic(Arabic) invaders? Historic and traditional evidence would seem to indicate so. Many if not most traditional African societies appear to have been Matriarchies or run by men and women on a more equal basis before outsiders(Arab invaders and later European colonizers) brought in patriarchy.

God is perceived to be a man because men write the holy books. And, men do have this thing about trying to recreate God in their own image.

There is, however, at least one exception which may well have been written by a woman. I am talking about The gnostic Gospel of Mary Magdalene. It is revolutionary in that its protrayal of Mary Magdalene is not as the Ho that Christianity chooses to think of her as but, rather, as the most trusted confidante and disciple of Jesus.

The oldest "religious" artifact ever found was of the Goddess. The men who found her thought she was a fertility goddess. She was not. She was Goddess herself. The first thoughts of an all powerful deity was that she was feminine. Fathers, after all, do not give birth.

Men also saw early Earth and nature worshipers as worshipers of The Devil. Something they invented when they saw the spirit of nature, Pan.

Mothers, elders and wise women were killed because they knew about herbs. Their knowledge of nature was twisted and they were called witches.

So, when did God get to be a man? When frightened men began to feel that women, unlike animals, were not in their control.

God was a Man from time immemorial, because we have no beginning and no end. In Genesis 1 it is said: "Let us make man in our own image..." The woman was created from the rib of the man to be his helpmate. So, if creation is reflective of God/Allah and His work, then the woman has to be as well. I'm not saying that she is not as much God as he is, because she is.

Who is the Original Man???

If you can answer that question then you have knowledge of whom the direct decendents of God/Allah are, and you have knowledge of your heritage.

This is a great question or discussion because you will always hear difference in opinions or truths to be exact... personally I dont know what gender god was if any in my heart god is me and that keeps me sane.. but if we could trully found out the truth how would it affect the world today...
