assante sane warrior princess,here goes the questions that i post it previously, me anda friend of mine that is from ghana,he understands about vodou,akan etc,afrikan spirituality,her told in afrika as well as in haiti,afrikan used it agaisnt each other, her told we have all this esoteric knowledge but we dont use for our own benefits,afrikans in brazil uses to make white brazilians rich,are we becoming our own worse enemies? my ghanian friend says,stead of us using to protect each other,we use to make other people rich and we still remain poor and in ther bottom of the ladder,what yall think?

You are welcome, Precious Bro. It just does my spirit good to see such vital questions being raised from such realistic observations that have been made. With this, I will simply repost my initial response.

Excellent questions/observations/acknowledgements! This would be VERY good/necessary in the Spirituality forum as well. (If you don't also put it there before too long, I'm just going to have to take matters in ma own hands, Young Man. )

Everything you've mentioned about the brother's observations seem on it to me. I have acknowledged the same observations and have even had similar threads on these things here, just in different words.

To answer the question, especially in regards to how it was put, I agree. We ARE our own worst enemies, because caucasions ultimately have no power over us that we do not give them. Spiritual just as much as financial greed has kept us separated and even in the situation that we are in. The same patterns of greed and the illusion of power that seemingly helped to make slavery possible can be seen in a lot of those who claim spiritual power over their brothers and sisters.

At any rate, this very question will never be fully discussed without taking us to the ROOTS of our present situations. The greed and betrayal that helped to create an African Diaspora in the first place. Until we are honest and learn/acknowledge OUR patterns of cause and effect, we will continue to repeat the same destructive patterns. What could be more anti-"us" than refusing to recognize/acknowledge and possibly correct our paths?

What europeans often called "black magic" or persecutive spiritual work is something that we actually didnt cultivate originally, we learned it from Arabic merchants that introduced talismans into Afrika. (I know it sounds like I am bashing but its true, its true.)

There are many spiritual people that believe they have to be poor. Furthermore there are some people that will not deal with certain Afrikan initiated priests if they dont have money. Its a kind of "how can you help me if you are struggling yourself?" This is a spiritually immature position, as not all people are supposed to be weathly or famous. Still further more, some people wont see a priest if do have money, because they assume that anyone doing spiritual work should be dirt poor. So look at that catch 22? Some say if you aint got nothing that you are nothing. Others say if you got something you must be doing something wrong. Cant win for trying right?

Sound familiar? There are also many conscious people that also believe that being poor is some kind of statement in righteous. Well, its not... I have seen people get their destiny divination and money is in their future. They will be wealthy. They dont have to run away from that to conform to my or anyone elses expectation of them. Well, again all of this stems from spiritual immaturity. Just like people that think spirituality is supposed to solve all your problems for you, as opposed to work with you to solve them.

Then you have some people that practice "lower science". To explain lower science I have to remind folks that some sciences are only activated by certain people based on not just training, but also their spiritual development. Case in point: There are some Ogun priests that are hunters. They used to hunt large animals: elephants, lions, leopards. etc. (now they are confined in what they can and cannot hunt) They verbally say an incantataion that allows them to kill big game with their voice. No sword. No gun. No spear. No bow. Just their power of utterance. Now some of those incantations are basic spiritual vibratory tools and can be used by anyone with practice. But other incantations have spiritual "safety seals" so to say...I could give it to Hitler and he wouldnt be able to get it to work. There is a spiritual principle at play: The greatest spiritual power is reserved for those that have earned the right to access it. These people are in small numbers and that grows gets smaller as we talk about the greatest of all sciences. Mostly because the masses lack the will or desire to study and ethical development.

Now back to "lower science". Many colonized, victimized, emotionally torn people exist everywhere, even among traditionalists. If they politics aint right then they might use lower science to help a politician. If their ethics arent right, they might use lower science to "catch a mate". But rest assured these people stand out like sore thumbs, as they usually have horrible or degraded reputations. They are, by and LARGE, the minority in our spiritual community. But they are sprinkled about Afrika, the Caribbean, the U.S. - everywhere. But they exist outside of the system's ethics, and they KNOW they do. They manipulate basic alchemy (spiritual chemistry / metholodgy) to get *crap* done. But they are closed off from higher work. And everyone knows this.

As traditionalist that is also a black nationalist I try to enstill in other traditional african religion devotees that ethics, right politics and social justice have got to be a part of their spiritual practice. The easiest way to do this is to get people involved with working with their Ancestors. Ancestors are charged by God (Nyame, Olodumare, Nyakara, Djabi, Mawu etc. ) with crafting and enforcing the ethical code of our families, communities, nations, ethnicities and so on, in that order... When traditionalists get back to Ancestral work their Ancestors literally open doors or close them based on how people act out in the world. And people have a better idea of right and wrong.

This kind of focus cuts down on lower sciences being used to hurt people or spiritual people using their gifts and their training to aid materially motived people.

But in a nutshell, EVERY person is his/her own worst enemy, no matter what color, nationality, ethnicity etc. THis is why we are taught to KNOW YOUR SELF, lest you be a victim of your OWN undoing!
