The Afrikan Village is a former church that is now a kind of pan-afrikan church. They take bits and parts of various traditions and just study the way they want. It happens outside of the traditional afrikan spirituality context, that is, it doesnt resemble anything happening in our ancestral customs. (they use a lot of books by scholars and intellects for their interpetations of things)

But given that it doing something, I dont criticize it a whole lot. They arent always right in their interpetations of things, but they are trying. They seem to have captured a lot of the old school scholars from the Associations for the Study of Classical African Civilizations ASCAC crowd. Folks that were the same age as John Henrik Clarke and Chancellor Williams age. And a lot of church going folks. They are led by a former preacher. Or at least I think he is a former preacher. I cant tell. lol
