Brownfields are real property, the expansion, redevelopment, or reuse of which may be complicated by the presence or potential presence of a hazardous substance, pollutant, or contaminant. Cleaning up and reinvesting in these properties takes development pressures off of undeveloped, open land, and both improves and protects the environment.


Most Brownfields are located in poor community lived in by minorities. Historically real estate speculators have made the most from redevelopment in communities because they sit on this land and wait developers and city officials to plan projects. This conference looks at ways to rebuild community AND support community. Healthy, inclusive and profitable for all.
