Art program applications due Aug. 1

The Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis is currently accepting applications for entrance into the 2005-2006 New Art in the Neighborhood program, a scholarship-based visual arts program that helps teen artists (grades 9-12) develop skills and express themselves.

Classes are held most Saturdays from September through May at the Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis, 3750 Washington Boulevard in Grand Center. A focus of the curriculum is the creation of a portfolio students my use to apply to art and architecture programs.

Applications must be completed and returned by August 1. Twenty students will be notified of their acceptance by August 30 and classes will begin in early September. Applications are available at or by calling Kelly Scheffer at (314) 535-0770 x218.
