what about women who shave....that's not natural....should'nt they stop...i meanlike my brother Goodrain said could that be a symbol of self hate...they should embrace their hairy legs and arms...i mean God creates everything with perfection...and the fact theirs women who shve their hair...that's like they spitting on God's art work....1..

odo bi abokye! we should not let our dysfunctionalities over shadow us,we should rise above that, women that dyes their hair and stuff,is sign of self hatred,thats for sure,being natura means going back to the center love should not be based solely on outter appearences,but inner light and inner being love thyself and u will be able to love others,love thy mother afrika, and she will love you back

Well....i for one do not shave my legs or arms (yes! i am hairy!)...in the past the bros i had in my life told me "that is nasty" etc. but i do not see the need or the reason! why should i go thru all that pain and trouble to shave, hot wax and "neet" my legs? for who and for what?-on top of all dat i grow facial hair which i must wax! or else it grows like dandelions!! another thang that bros. (and sistahs) need to BE REAL about is the reality that alot of bros who talk about they want a natural sistah, when they see a sistah that does not perm her hair, shave her legs, wear skirts above the knee and hardly wears makeup (on occasion i do wear lipstick) they cringe!!!! they cannot deal with it cause as they say "natural sistahs look too masculine...i do not want a sistah that looks like a man!" i have naturally short hair which i keep in a very low cut and i also often wear afreekan turbans or headwraps etc. and one of the bros that i know around the way, rec. told me i look like aunt jemima!!-can u imagine??... also i have been told that it is "not sexy " and "i look like i wanna be a nun!" --to always be wearing afrocentric dress and long skirts like i do...all this by so-called afreekan-centered bros! basically- alot of natural sistahs i know are single and looking...but it is the sistahs in permed hair and tight ass pants that are attracting the bros who say they are about liberation...hey! atleast they are sistahs right! cause most times they are white!!



On another note sistahs who go natural are sometimes coerced back in2 perming by their man or their job cause of the pressure they face...alot of times they feel unattractive or self-conscious for various reasons and also their mate pressures them back in2 "looking sexy" as i was rec. told by 1 sistah...so what do afreekan centered bros really want huh? a true Afreekan queen or a foxy brown look alike? make up your damn mind!! and as for US sistahs WE NEED TO BE FIRM ABOUT OUR QUEENDOM and DECIDE WHETHER OR NOT THAT BRO. IS WORTH LISTENIN TO! WE ARE NOT DOLLS THAT CAN BE PURCHASED AT TOYS R US! WE HAVE OUR OWN MIND ABOUT WHAT BEAUTY IS- OR DO WE? I AM SOOOOOO TIRED OF HEARING SISTAHS TAKE INSTRUCTIONS FROM THEIR MAN ON HOW THEY SHOULD LOOK AND WHAT THEY SHOULD WEAR ...AS AFREEKAN SISTAHS WE CALL THE SHOTS ON HOW WE REPRESENT OUR FEMALE DIVINITY AND THAT MEANS NOT BACKIN DOWN ON WHAT IS RIGHT FOR US!!



IT HAS NOT BEEN EASY FOR ME AT ALL.... I HAVE RECEIVED ALL KINDS OF INDIRECT INSULTS FROM BROS. THAT I LET IN2 MY LIFE...AND IF IT MEANS THAT I WILL BE ALONE FOREVER....SO BE IT!! I WILL NOT! CANNOT!! BECOME AN ELIZABETH TAYLOR FREAKAZOID-REPLICA TO SUIT THE SICK PERVERSION OF ANY HOUSE KNEEGROW POSING AS SOME SUPERFICIAL LIBERATIONIST!!....I WOULD RATHER LAY IN BED ALONE WITH A GOOD BOOK AND SOME HERBAL TEA!!! Sis Kentake, you are so funny. Well let me say somebody did not care that you dont shave your arms and legs because your going to be giving birth right around the corner. lol. Now me personally,I dont like body hair. I stay shaved, waxed, and plucked. Yes, it hurts but at the end of the day I feel good about it. I dont see how plucking your eyebrows (for example) would be a sign of self-hate, you have to do what feels good in your spirit.

I don't care either way if a woman shaves or not. As long as she isn't wearing blue contacts and dying her hair blonde or using lightening creams, then I'm cool with her.

I personally prefer natural everything, but something like shaving isn't going to phase me. When not shaving becomes a health concern, then I'll say something.
