" Wherever death may surprise us , let it be welcome , provided that this , our battle cry , may have reached some receptive ear and another hand may be extended to wield our weapons and other men be ready to intone the funeral dirge with the staccato singing of the machine guns and new battle cries of war and victory " CHE
I just saw her at the Black Consciousness Conference at California State University Long Beach (which I forgot to post in the L.A. events section) the other day. I couldn't think of anything I wanted to ask her though, so I kept it moving. I'm an idiot.
Man Ifa...when I saw her, it was crazy because most of the people were in the workshops. It was only like 10 people in the reception hall at the most. I was just chillin' because the current workshop was something that was irrelevant to me, and I had just got through passing out HELLA A-APRP leaflets. Anyways...it was about 10 of us and NONE of them recognized her...and I could have EASILY asked her some questions before the other 9 people caught on, and also before the people started coming out of the workshops and began to recognize who she was. I couldn't think of anything I wanted to talk to her about thoughOriginally Posted by IfasehunReincarnated

She's very familiar with the life and times of Kwame Ture and she was present when Huey and Farakhan " talked " on Huey's balcony with armed men from both camps present .

Read the book , because anything that I say will be disputed by you . However , as a matter of common sense , who in their right mind would confront Huey P . Newton about a confrontational and vulgar ( plus Mr . Newton stated clearly that there would be hell to pay if anything happened to Sister Betty Shabazz ) remark Mr . Newton made about their organization , unarmed , in Mr . Newton 's penthouse . Nothing but a fool . Even armed you are somewhere between the 13th floor and lala land .

I asked a question; do u know the answer? I'm not here to dispute u. All that's written in a book doesn't equal truth. Didn't u know that?Originally Posted by Burningspear
I don't doubt your common sense nor what u've said yet, just have a mild curiosity... no big thing. Too bad our ancestor Sista Betty Shabazz didn't hear what u say Huey said. When I write her grandson, I'll be sure to remind him of such rumors. On second thought I best not; he'd probably not heard it either; in fact I doubt he gives a damn now; more pressing are his concerns. Also maybe we can just overlook the wolf selling talk and both write to the young brutha, enquiring of his needs.

Sister Betty Shabazz heard every word , both parties , the Panthers and the Nation ,arrived at the airport to provide security and escort our deceased sister . She accepted the services of the Panthers ! I don't think her grandson was even born at the time . Is this the grandson responsible for her death ?

Interesting as we go; now what was the FOI armed with? and are you saying that Betty was at a meeting with the Panthers and Farrakhan at the same time? I'm confused, help a brutha be clear 'bout this.
Yeah her grandson was convicted and as was posted here by either Jacuma or Im Truth the young brutha and a grandson, I think of Chancellor Williams are get'n a dangerous and incorrigable prisoner treatment by the "hacks."
Ya know there was/is a poll listed here asking why don't or aren't do n as the Palestinans are in Zionist occupied lands. I submit for your peep'n to remember what Amilcal Cabral adivised in the early 1970s to a group in NYC; our aim may be the same, but the means will differ. Its advisable to examine our Stories here, our locales, times, people, circumstances and conditions while formulating strategies and tactics. The last two are vital factors in making decisions on what to do; when, & how.
Lemme put a question to u. Have u heard of the yung brutha, 'round 5 or 6 years young in Florida, who the cops fired over 50,000 volts into from a taser gun? He's dead.
What would/will u do in response?
I heard on the radio a brutha from that locale say when something similar had happened a few years ago, he and others took a marching and chanting path demonstrating their displeasure... the lawful means. As they strolled, folk threw rocks and stones, bottles whatever at them! Now he's saying he will return home, but is not sure what to do. What do u think he should or u would/will do?
In fact I'd like to open this up to rebelafrika and our resident discussion master tehuti and anyone else who thinks.
Then call me after its decided... who knows I might go w/u or send some of my sons. Maybe its an opportunity to show if we're like the valiant kids in Palestine.
Its written that when a person is killed unjustly its as if a whole people are wounded! I think that implies an arabic word is in place: Asabiyyah: strong feelings shared with blood ties and long associations so that what harms one harms all.

I don't have much empathy for the young brother who 's responsible for Sister Shabazz's death , however , I will refrain from further comment until I read brother Jacuma's post , as he is a brother worthy of respect .

I can only be expected to follow the law in amerikkka to the extent that the Jews were expected to follow the laws of nazi germany.Originally Posted by Baba Ahmed

I read u, rebelafrika - and thanks for responding to a reality....
come to think of it, tho, the jews in hitler's germany must've done something incorrectly - remember they were exterminated. and many of their own kind turned on'em. So I doubt, I'd follow their examples.... except in suing for Reparations
Oh and we did follow their legal fight to have access to kosher foods, especially meats in prisons; it was such rulings that we based our moves to have Ramadan observed, and selected Black folk holidays recognized; voting for prisoners was established; mosques were set up; prisoners could wear kuffies and even long garments in mosques area; Friday congrational prayers were established; weddings and conjugal visits; get'n union wage rates for certain jobs they did; e.g., welding and making bed frames and automobile licience plates, etc all that was in a "Rehabilitation" prison philosophy.
But otherwise, some of us have learned to study the works of our predecessors and to do the work per today's social climate and our folk's mentalities. Like the earlier bruthas and sistas were saying support of the masses is even more key for us than before.

Niggaz tell you they're ready to be liberated, but when you say, "Let's go take our liberation", niggaz reply, "I was just playin". Niggaz are playin' with revolution and losin'. Niggaz are scared of revolution.
