| A Brief History Of Big Ralph: Reflections A Black Police Chief
A BRIEF HISTORY OF BIG RALPH: REFLECTIONS A BLACK POLICE CHIEF www.psychezpublishing.com The Genesis and or history of the book “BIG RALPH: REFLECTIONS OF A BLACK POLICE CHIEF” is noted in CENSORSHIP. This CENSORSHIP first began while I was a student at Fisk University, Nashville, Tennessee 1971-1973.My Thesis “THE PHILOSOPHICAL ROOTS OF THE BLACK PANTHER PARTY” caused much resistance by the Chairman of the History Department. I also later concluded that Black Studies are a farce and sham in many respects. Therefore I believe that there are few if any independent Black Studies Programs in existence. Although my Thesis was eventually accepted and my degree was awarded my ability to do further study was denied. So were jobs at the various colleges and universities that were a part of the collection of schools that made up the 13 College Curriculum Program that grew to include 32 Colleges. Thus I saw first hand the attack on independent thinking that would last throughout my academic experiences and has continued during my career as a writer. ATLANTA UNIVERSITY NOW CLARK A U By 1980 I was able to re-enter college to study on the doctoral level at Atlanta University department of Political Science. Once again I saw the resistance to my research. This time I wrote about “BLACK POLITICAL INVOLVEMENT IN CHATTANOOGA, TN” my hometown. Again I saw that Black Studies was not what it was made out to be because independent thinking was a no-no and was discouraged. Meanwhile the department tried to impede my progress toward the completion of the degree requirements. I passed all of my oral exams and finished my course work. But my written exams met great resistance. Although I was required to write several exams over I completed the written phase. However my dissertation was never accepted. Meanwhile I filed a grievance through the University. I also filed a complaint with the US department of Civil Rights. I also consulted with at least eight different attorneys to no avail. By 1986 I cease all efforts to gain justice from the University. After a brief time as a self-employed business (Boutique) Operator I retuned to Chattanooga, TN by 1987. When I returned to Chattanooga I was asked (small Black Weekly Newspaper the Chattanooga News Weekly) to make an analysis o the political climate regarding on-going political confusion in the city. A Federal law-suit had been filed by several Black plaintiffs regarding the unconstitutional nature of the Commission form of Government. The suit was decided in the plaintiffs favor. My research on Black politics in Chattanooga was very valuable. In the meantime I wrote a vast assortment of articles regarding political corruption and gained a host of enemies in the Black and White communities. My life was threatened and I was assaulted several times. I returned to Atlanta 1990-1991. I managed a small Black Weekly and monthly. However the censors eventually turned the owner/publisher against me and I was forced me out. After a year with the Atlanta News Weekly/Atlanta Metro I resigned myself to write full length manuscripts and looked for peace I thought I could achieve peace by staying away from a weekly, daily or monthly press. In this climate (1995) I began to write “BIG RALPH”. Which was completed in the Spring of 1997. Since that time the book has been censored by a vast cadre of people, organizations etc. THE FOLLOWING IS TAKEN FROM A PRESS RELEASE JANUARY 3, 2007 The author will answer questions about Civil Rights Organizations, Black Leadership and various educational institutions and the censorship of his research. Are there any independent Black Studies Departments at any college in America? Also hear an explanation of Integrationist Philosophy and how it has impacted on the Civil Rights Movement. Why have many Black Preachers censored conclusions noted in Patton’s research about the involvement of the Black Church during the height of the Civil Rights struggle? Did Thurgood Marshall speak for the entire Black community when he rendered a Black inferiority argument in Brown vs. Board of Education? ARE BLACK HISTORIANS ALLOWED TO MAKE AN ACCURATE CRITIQUE OF THE BLACK EXPERIENCE, BLACK LEADERSHIP, BLACK ORGANIZATIONS, THE BLACK CHURCH AND THE CIVIL RIGHTS MOVMENT? IS DISCRIMINATION ONLY DEFINED BY BLACK CIVIL RIGHTS ORGANIZATIONS THAT SEE RACIAL DISCRIMINATION ONLY AS WHITE ON BLACK? THUS DOES BLACK ON BLACK DISCRIMINATION EXIST? CAN BLACK PEOPLE ALSO BE RACISTS? |
