Recycling Black Dollars 's Goal; A Billion Dollar Black Bank

Recycling Black Dollars, a national community empowerment group, is requesting your support and assistance, in an effort to make positive history for our people.
(Los Angeles) Muhammad Nassardeen, President/Founder of Recycling Black Dollars (RBD), a national community empowerment group, is requesting your support and assistance, in an effort to make positive history for our people. RBD is thowing it's considerable influence and clout, behind elevating America's largest Black bank, OneUnited, to being the first Black Billion Dollar Bank in this country’s history.
OneUnited Bank currently has two branches in Boston, two in Miami and five in Los Angeles. The bank’s CEO, Mr. Kevin Cohee, is a Harvard MBA and the bank presently has assets of over $500 Million. RBD's goal, with the help of Black people from around the country is for OneUnited to reach a billion dollars by February 28, 2006.
According to Nassardeen; In Los Angeles alone, African Americans have $9 Billion in one bank! Yet we do not have even one billion dollar bank of our own. For this holiday season let’s give the gift of economic empowerment. Instead of, or in addition to traditional gifts, let’s give our young people the gift of a OneUnited bank account. We will make them a positive part of our history by including them in the generation that recognized that it’s in our own best interest to have strong Black-owned banks. We need banks that are dedicated to the growth and development of our communities around the country. OneUnited Bank like all American banks is federally insured so your money is not only safe, but it’s working for all of us to make our communities better.
Nassardeen went on to say; An African American bank that reaches the coveted billion dollar status can provide more money for small businesses, home ownership, property acquisition, television and radio stations, all of which lead to more jobs and opportunities for our community. We must make better decisions with the over $725 billion we as Black people earn each year in America. We can no longer afford to bank for convenience alone. We must put our money where it will do us the most good. It is our duty to be better stewards over what we are blessed with.
RBD is encourging all of us to be a part of history during Black History Month. Please spread the word and help get everyone involved with this important movement such as churches, sororities, fraternities and other organizations. Everyone must help make this happen. The last time Black people launched a successful economic movement was with the great Marcus Garvey in the middle of a depression. Right here in America Black people raised over $8 Million Dollars. Our Grandparents and in some cases great grandparents did it, we can do it again!
