JOBS: seeking screenwriters to lead summer workshop

Esther Productions, Inc.
PO Box 21477
Washington, DC 20009

May 28, 2006

Esther Productions, Inc., a nonprofit District organization serving underserved communities, is sponsoring a 9 week Summer Literary Series from June 26, 2006 – August 11, 2006 and I am seeking two screenwriters that I would like to recommend as a workshop leader for Summer Literary Series. Although, I do not make the final decision, I would like to receive a copy of your resume and bio.

The program is targeted for youths 11-15 who may be considered at-risk are who are having difficulty in the traditional educational settings. In addition to creating their own works, participants have an opportunity to interact with published writers who present a reading for the community in which the series is located. These sessions are taught by established professional writers from the area and are designed to enhance overall literacy. More specifically, the series helps participants use their own personal lives and experiences as the basis for exploring the world of imagination in a non-threatening environment nurtures their artistic potential. The workshop experience is augmented by a Reading Series that features poets and fiction writers who appear in venues in the under-served communities targeted by the program. Further, selected writings of workshop participants is published at the end of the series and distributed throughout the region.

If you would like further information about the program and interested in being apart of the Summer Literary Series, please feel free to contact either myself or Ms. Barras at estherinc@aol.com or by phone at 202.232.0780.

Thank you for your time and consideration in advance. I look forward to speaking with you soon.

Sincerely, Afrika M.A. Abney
