Unity!

Unity!

All conscious sane people desire unity. They desire the unity of the human family; they desire the unity of their global cultural groups; they desire the unity of their immediate polity and societies; they desire the unity of their familial-based groups: our tribes, clans, extended and nuclear families. Unity, of whatever type, requires organizations. One thing is clear in all these levels; organization is the agency, prerequisite, and means for the achievement of unity. A disorganized humanity will fall prey to avaricious predator classes such as we have seen in much of human history; a disorganized people will find their culture usurped, exploited and distorted by these same predator classes; those who are disorganized or poorly organized will find their political and social structures destroyed by the amoral elements of humanity and their familial structures smashed, abused, raped and generally decimated. In short, people who are lax about organization will find their freedom and liberty stolen from them by these amoral human forces; their quality of life consistently deteriorating and generally speaking their humanity effectively denied by the predator sectors of humanity.

To fight that predator class, that amoral sector of men and women who have plagued human society for millenniums, our common enemy, our mutual tormentor, our shared parasite; we must act in accord, in conformity, in a coordinated manner with each other; we must be united. Hence we must come together as organizations, as it is clear that only organizations can create and constitute real unity.

All over the world our people recognize the efficacy of organization leading to unity. Many correctly comprehend that Pan-Africanism, as defined by Dr. Kwame Nkrumah -- a continent-wide socially conscious popular democratic government, in effect a scientific socialist state, in which all people of Africa and descended from Africa are citizens -- is the answer to all our problems, locally and globally; as groups, as individuals. These people recognize that it is only in such an arrangement will the cultures, aspirations, and families of African peoples flourish and develop to our maximum capacity.

The history of struggles and movements have indicated that the most effective approach to unity is precision organization. Such precision comes only when the constituent organizations are able to work together harmoniously in the context of mutual commitment to the highest goals and objectives by means of the proper integration of their autonomous identities as agencies, the accommodation and proper appreciation of their specific strategies and tactics, and effective communication between the elements of the unity.

All oppressed and exploited people strive for the unity of the people's organizations. In the Americas the indigenous people have consistently worked to build unity of the fighting organizations. One of the greatest efforts was led by a man named Tecumseh, a Shawnee leader. Although limited to the eastern part of the United States, the constellation of united indigenous Nations that Tecumseh worked so hard to achieve is an instructive lesson for us. Tecumseh's vision of a unified American Indian State electrified his people and frightened the settlers in the early 19th century, until his death in a battle during the War of 1812. This man whose father and older brother had been killed in the struggle against the European settlers, is a shining example of principled leadership.

A good modern day example of this is the National Liberation Front in southern Vietnam in the 20th century. This front was comprised of students, youth, women, peasants, religious groups such as the Buddhists, workers and various other types of organizations. However, these people were able to come together based on their common positions: Their opposition to colonial and neo-colonial oppression and their mutual desire for real democracy and liberty in a united Vietnam. It was the combination of the National Liberation Front, the liberated north of Vietnam and their allies which made the political-military defeat of the French, the US and their allies possible.

Another good example is the All-African Anti-Zionist Front, co-chaired by the RNA and the A-APRP; and philosophically based on Omowale Malcolm X's (Shabazz) thesis on zionism and neo-colonialism. This formation was ideologically and organizationally designed to accommodate the broad concerns emanating from the negative impact of zionism on the lives of African people around the globe -- from the provision of nuclear weapons to the racist settler state of the Republic of South Africa to the exploitation and oppression of African citizens in Cairo, Illinois.

As Omowale Malcolm X correctly points out, zionism is the most effective weapon of the new colonialism, neo-colonialism. Thus the impetus to build an All African front against zionism was and is an imperative. As such it is the perfect vehicle to build the foundation of the unity that the Great African Leader Dr. Kwame Nkrumah called for; the unity of all African forces opposed to neo-colonialism in all its forms. This is the task before us today, to realize the aspirations of men and women such as Dr. Nkrumah and millions upon millions of other African people. This cannot be done without an effective administrative regime to maintain and improve the efficacy of our system of concordance; an educational and information capacity to constantly qualify our human resources, the women and men who are the makers of history and the creators of the culture; and a constant system of outreach to similarly impacted people across the world.
