Vegan "Fried Chicken"

Vegan "Fried Chicken"

Vegan "Fried Chicken"

Ingredients (use vegan versions):
1/2 cup textured soy protein
1 tablespoon vegetarian "chicken" bouillon powder
1/2 cup vegan pancake mix or instant mashed potatoes, dry (approximately)
2/3 cup crushed cornflakes (approximately)
Salt, pepper, other seasonings
Oil for frying
Directions:

Put 1/2 c hot water in a bowl. Stir in bouillon powder. Soak textured soy protein in this liquid for 10 minutes. Mix in just enough pancake mix to make a cohesive mixture that can be formed into patties. Mix in salt, pepper, and other seasonings to taste. Put crushed cornflakes in a plate. Dip patties into cornflakes, covering them completely. Heat some oil on medium heat in a heavy frying pan. Fry patties in oil until crispy, turning occasionally.

I think that we as vegans cannot become too dependant on soy, period. Its a food that can become toxic if used too much. Especially for our boys and men, its high in estrogen
Also, you dont want to pick up the same bad eating habits that we had as a meat eaters such as fried chicken. The goal is to start eating foods that dont create cravings and remind us of flesh eating. I find the more raw foods you eat, you dont have a bigappetite. And basically the foods good for us should not create an appetite. Because they do not stick on to our DNA and make us addicts. You dont want to become a vegan and eat no animal products but simply transition to another unhealthy lifestyle. But it takes transition and times to break addicts. And soy is a transition food, just please eat in moderation. Learn to live green. Idolize those green foods. I have been a vegan for at least 7 years. And because I was so stuck on vegan cookies, and ice cream, pie, and tofurky, etc. I was not living as green as I should. Not looking at the chlorophyll, wheat grass, and raw foods.

I encourage vegans to try to eat raw at least 50% of the day.

Quorn is "okay" occasionally. It would fit into what Sesame Street now calls "sometimes foods" but I have yet to find the ultimate source of Quorn and as such wouldnt eat it too often.

I can appreciate this advice. I have been vegetarian since 1990, but I can't say I have ever gone more than 3 months on a completely raw diet. Right now we try to see a raw meal item at every meal and one completely raw meal once a week. But your advice is much more aligned with the Ancestors. Keep sharing sister!
