I want to apologize for being away for so long, but I have been busy. One of the things that is heavy on my mind is to not just be a talker. A man of too many words and little action...to me, is no man at all. I've been working to build a Black Liberation Theology study group in the church I attend, teaching the Black Value System, Black History and having to tie it all in to the Bible, and I've been dealing with a bunch of personal stuff as well...but I do promise that won't be away this long again...thanks for your concern and interest...you all be blessed

| If My People
IF MY PEOPLE "If My people, who are called by My Name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land." 2 Chronicles 7:14 Sometimes, God has to take some very adverse measures with us in order to get our attention. We don’t always want to listen to Him…we don’t always do the things He tells us to do, and certainly not always the way He tells us to do the things He tells us to do. He could never have been more on point as when He told the prophet Ezekiel that we are hard-headed and stubborn…and obstinate…because we are all of the above…all of the above! And don’t be fooled by collars, positions and titles…wherein you can…and will find some of the most hard-headed, stubborn and obstinate. You know…one of the hardest things I’ve ever done in my life was to bite my tongue. When I was a kid, I used to hold things back…a lot. Back then, I would hear the Lord speaking to me about this, that or the other…I don’t remember knowing that it was Him at first, but that soon passed, and I suddenly found myself saying things to people that I would have never thought would come out of my mouth. Suddenly, I found myself reading the Word of God, and seeing the things that I was seeing and hearing…they began coming to life…page by page…they began coming to life. I would walk around the neighborhood and could see that valley that was full of dead, dry bones. Then I would see the Lord’s mighty hand move over the face of darkness…and things would soon be bathed iHis Light…once the people felt just the warmth of that Light, there would be a re version of the work of the Light of the Lord, and I could hear the Jeremiah 42 warning to God’s people about our deliverance, and what would happen if we returned, in our heart and spirit, to that place that God has delivered us from. I’ve seen, through my reading Nehemiah, Joshua…The Exodus, everything that God has said He would do for His people…I have seen not only what He’s going to do….but all that we have to do in order to get it done. Maybe I should let that soak in for a minute… Jesus had one requirement of those that He healed…one requirement…an act of faith…a ”Pick up your mat and walk” thing if you will…yet still, after we are lifted out of that dark place and into His light. When I look around the community I can see the lack of accountability…I can see the obstinence, the arrogance and the irresponsibility of the church, the powers that be…and the people. I had a conversation after church yesterday about speaking the word that God gives you to speak in a diplomatic way. I believe that you are to say what the Lord tells you to say the exact way He tells you to say it. It isn’t up to you to give or take away the effect of what God is saying to whomever….it’s just not your call. The way that person or persons hear a word very much determines how they respond to the word that they hear. And so, the Lord has given me a word for His people…it’s not a word that I sat here and thought up a word that sounds spiritually engulfing, but rather, this is the word that God has given to me…and it is the same word that He gave to Jeremiah, that He gave to Ezekiel…it is the same word that we read in 2 Chronicles 7:14, where God gives us His prescription for healing, deliverance and being set free…God does tell us this: "If My people, who are called by My Name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land." I really learned something over the past two weeks…when God speaks, you/we need to listen and hear what He is saying…and then we need to act on what He says. I just had an accident on my bicycle that ended up with me breaking my collar bone…even as I write these words, I do so in great discomfort. This discomfort is just one of many that have been running through my life these days….and while I won’t go through the whole list of “discomforts”, believe me they are all on the list of things that I have offered up to God as things that I not only need to have His forgiveness for, but they are things that need to be restored or taken out in, or of, my life. In the Holy Ghost Deli, 2 Chronicles 7:14 is the specialty sandwhich that we all need to try…here are the ingredients of that sandwhich: Bread...If Lettuce....Humble Tomatoes…Pray Mayo…Seek Cheese…Turn . Bread…Then Back in the day, there was a song called Memphis Soul Stew…well this is a Spiritual Strength Sandwich. Folks we need some strength…we need new life breathed into our spirit…we need our spirit restored. This isn’t something that anyone else can do for us, this is something that we must do for ourselves. We cannot sit around and allow all of this good, strengthening prophetic word swirl all around us and not reach out and grab any of it. We’re missing out on many, many things in life because e have never, at ay one point in time stood as one man…one voice…in agreement the way the Word says we ought to be in agreement. The Lord requires those of us who profess a relationship with Him to cast aside all of our isms and rise up as one voice to humble ourselves and pray…right now we don’t need to look into the rest of that verse, but rather simply work on humbling ourselves and pray…let’s begin right there…let’s find a point of agreement where we can go to the Lord and confess to Him our sins, and repent those sins…and then let’s…I said let’s get down on our knees and pray, and pray…and pray…and don’t stop praying until we see the Lord move on our situations and circumstances. I believe that if we can enter into praying in agreement that we can find ourselves seeking the face of God and turning from our wicked ways…and all the while we would be walking in the change that we desire so much. Following is a study on 2 Chronicles 7:14…just a little something tp get you in the mood. If My People If "Today, if you hear His voice, do not harden your heart…" Psalm 95:7-8 "Blessed is the man who always fears the Lord, but he who hardens his heart falls into trouble." Proverbs 28:14 "But, because of your stubbornness and your unrepentant heart, you are storing up wrath against yourself for the day of God's wrath, when His righteous judgment will be revealed." Isaiah 57:15 "Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that He may lift you up in due time." 1 Peter 5:6 "Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will lift you up."
