Some of the comments here by sistas reminds me of an interview of a Liberian sista part of a D.C. based think tank when she was asked to comment of Bush's wife's suggestion that C. Rice be President of Liberia. The sista: well she's part of the Bush Cabinent and she's done nothing for women or Afrikan Americans!

We need to stop praising every Black person who accomplishes something. All black ain't Black!

Also remember her background, she just came out of employment with the World Bank; and a Liberian brutha/friend of mine (not a member of returning freed slaves class) is very reserved 'bout her worth and who she'll really represent. I heard part of her acceptance speech she made statements about re shaping Firestone's dominant positions in Liberia.

I say be cool and examine what she's able to do. Talk is cheap.

I must say that I have been looking for a forum like this for a long time. I have done many things in my life. I was a minister in two different denominations, an economic justice activist, an anti-racism anti-oppression organizer and trainer and a writer. I have written several books with Black people in mind, on how to not only understand oppression, but how to heal from its effects and help other people to heal from its effects. Now I am working on the internet, sometimes, to promote those books and ideas. I am also a teacher of Tai Chi, Kenpo, a Reflexologist, Massage Therapist and Siritual Director. All of the things that I am doing now came as a result of studying how to releive the pain and suffering and internalized oppression for racism for a dissertation that I wrote on that subject. (It´s hard to get such information out with him blocking you at every turn, if you know what I mean). That´s basically who I am.
