Afrikan/African???

Hello everyon! I'm a nu warrior here. I was fascinated by this wesite, and now I can connect to my true brothas and sistas.

But what I was wondering is, Why does the spelling of African matter?
Do you know "Afrika" can be German (white language) for Africa?
"Afer" is closer to what the Berbers called the land. Why not make something out of that instead? Just wondering
